It was a dark stormy October night, I was jacked up on Monsters, and driving a stick-shift that I happen to struggle with; especially on hills. I was following my cousin Kayla to her friend's house, so we could get ready for the show. My friend Jordan rode in the car with me. After a while of messing around, putting our makeup on, etc. It was time for the show. When we arrived I observed in nearly complete silence. The Monster energy drink was making me a little wacky, so I figured for lack of focus, to just look at all the unique people and admire their costumes. Honestly I was sort of imaging there to be more gay people. How do I know there weren't? Ehh... Friends, of friends, of friends... ;)
Kayla, and I had seats next to each other, my friend Jordan had a totally different seat, and the rest of Kayla's friends had seats near us. I waited in extreme anticipation... anxiously reading all the silly Rocky Horror fact distractions on the screen, to pass the time. They had a small pre-introduction for all the freaks to strut their stuff on the stage... I was quite embarrassed and shy, but forced myself to blow one kiss to the audience. Kayla happened to catch it on camera which was quite dandy.
Then there was the crazy pre-show that consisted of people having to pop balloons against each other in a sort of sexual motion. I laughed in sheer embarrassment for the people, and they're concentration they upheld within the task.
Finally the real introduction began... "a cellulite jam..." The first song in the show happens to be one of my favorites, so of course I enjoyed that. The character Columbia is my absolute favorite! Apart from being the most provocative, she was flipping hysterical, and I loved it! (this is a horrible picture of her, but you've gotta see her) (*note:* I only took a few in the show)
The other 'eye opener' for me, was the character Rocky's appearance. I'm telling you, if he were to have walked up to me and had a conversation, I'd probably faint. *faints at the thought*
(Rocky and Jordan)
Overall, the music was wonderful, the swearing was constant, the audience was loud, the colors were shimmering, and we had ourselves a good ol' time. ;) I do wish I would have been more myself, and less zombie-fied during the show and what not, but none the less, it's an experience I won't soon forget.
Afterwards, I sang for about an our, overcome with inspiration...
See you next time my lovelies... God bless, you, and you, and you! *Muah*
